Agriculture and food
In ancient Greece 80% of people were farmers. In the odyssey period of time people of Greece started to diet by eating cereals. Cereals such as durum wheat and barley, They also ate millet and wheat but not as much. Barley was produced 90% in Ancient Greece. In the Athenian society agriculture started to bring along colonization. During the bronze age grapes were planted inside of Greece. Also olive trees which were used to make olive oil were grown.
Art and Music
Music and art was a huge factor in Ancient Greek life. Apollo and the Muses were the most influential gods in art and music. The goddesses of science and arts were the muses. Their ruler was Apollo. The Greek religion was important in their music. They also used music and art for enjoyment. Greeks also painted in their homes.
Government and Law
The government in Ancient Greece changed frequently. Their government was mostly back and forth from oligarchy, to tyranny, to democracy. the meaning of oligarchy is "ruled by a few". Tyranny is "ruled by one". The last is democracy and that means "ruled by the people". An oligarchy is mostly made of aristocrats which were rich landowners. A tyranny was one person who ruled by force. They were not always what you thought they would be. Everyone loved and respected their tyrant. A democracy was when citizens ruled the government. To be a citizen you had to be male, born in Greece, fully Greek, and you had to own land.
Architecture
Most Ancient Greek architecture was made by architects striving for perfection. In the sixth century of B.C information was discovered that was used to improve architecture over the 2000 years. Greek architects used a series of columns in building most of the time. They also used triglphs which are three bars that are decorated with things from Greek culture. Between the years of 500-480 B.C the Alphaia at Aegina was built. Then approximately three packs of excellent architecture was moved to Attica.
Religion and Mythology
Religion was a big part of ancient Greece. Gods and goddesses were worshiped with various talents. Homer the blind poet made most of these legends. Various worship places worshiped various gods. Many artists created sculptors and art vases made of terracotta bronze. These were be put into sanctuaries to represent gods/goddesses.
